Kupang – The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) considers the visit of the son of the King of Qatar, Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamir bin Hamad Al-Tsani to Maumere, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to boost tourist visits to island-based province.
“We convey welcome to Maumere. This visit can boost tourist visits to our region, considering that he is the son of the king of Qatar, “said Karo, Regional Secretary of NTT Marius Ardu Jelamu, to Antara in Kupang on Saturday (06/08/2019).
The Emir of Qatar has been in Maumere on Friday (06/07/2019) with a group with two private jets and a cruise ship that arrived in Maumere Bay on Thursday (6/6/2019).
The former NTT Tourism Office added that he did not know for certain how long the Qatar Emir would be in Maumere. “But certainly NTT will be increasingly known. In addition, many will wonder why the son of the King of Qatar wants to visit NTT, ”said Marius Ardu Jelamu.
Marius Ardu Jelamu said that with the arrival of the Emir of Qatar to NTT, it proved that Indonesia was a high-tolerance country.
The provincial government hopes that with the arrival of the Emir of Qatar, many investors from Qatar will invest in NTT starting from the tourism, land and air sectors. “I think there will be a lot of positive impacts for NTT, especially Maumere, which is the location of his visit,” said Marius Ardu Jelamu.
