Serang – The number of traffic accidents during the homecoming and Idul Fitri 2019 return flows in the Banten region decreased 29 percent compared to 2018 ago. Banten Regional Police (Polda) recorded the number of accidents in 2018 as many as 35 incidents. While on the homecoming and backflow flow 2019 the number of accidents is only 25 events or down by 10 cases.
This was conveyed by the Head of Banten Police Public Relations AKBP Edy Sumardi to SP , Wednesday (6/12/2019) morning. Edy stated that the number of fatalities caused by traffic accidents in 2019 also decreased by 12 people. While in 2018 there were 15 people.
“The victims were seriously injured in 2019 with only two people. While there were 12 people seriously injured in 2018. While the number of minor injuries was 35 people. In 2018 there were 53 people, “Edy said.
Edy further explained that material losses due to traffic accidents in 2018 reached Rp 172,200.00. While in 2018 only Rp. 88,700,000. “So it decreased by 84 percent,” he said.
Not only that, Edy also revealed that criminal cases in 2019 were only 30 cases. While in 2018 there were 46 cases.
“In general, the situation until the end of the 2019 Ketupat Operation in the Banten region is safe, smooth and conducive,” he said.
Edy further explained that the number of Lebaran 2019 homecoming passengers in Merak Port based on Banten Police records has decreased compared to 2018.
In 2019, there were 1,166,349 passengers. Whereas in 2018 there were 1,174,578 people.
“The number of truck vehicles in 2019 is only 6,553 units. While in 2018 there were 9,364 units. Bus vehicles have increased 13 percent, reaching 6,013 units in 2019. Meanwhile in 2018 there were 5,298 units, “he explained.
Furthermore, the number of two-wheeled vehicles increased by only 1 percent reaching 96,790 units in 2019. Meanwhile in 2018 there were 96,707 units.
“The number of private cars increased 8 percent to 131,662 units in 2019. While in 2018 there were only 122,095 units,” he said.
