Jakarta – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) submitted a budget of Rp 1.4 trillion in the upcoming 2020 State Budget. The budget proposal increased by around Rp. 500 billion from the ceiling set by the government in the 2020 budget year, which was only Rp. 828.17 billion.
Member of Commission III of the PDIP faction Arteria Dahlan said the budget proposal submitted by the KPK was still being considered. He considered, budget allocation must be clearly specified.
“For example, the additional budget will be allocated for integrity assessment surveys. What is the evaluation of integrity in government institutions, please give an overview,” said Arteria Dahlan, Thursday (06/13/2019).
Arteria also highlighted plans to construct buildings for confiscated goods. He suggested that the KPK should use the house of confiscated objects (rupbasan) belonging to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
“I think it is better for the KPK to sell or auction confiscated goods rather than having to build new buildings,” he said.
Nevertheless, Arteria stressed that if the KPK explained in detail the budget plan proposed by the House of Representatives Commission III would consider it.
In a working meeting at Commission III yesterday, KPK Chair Agus Rahardjo requested an additional budget of Rp 580.14 billion. The budget will be used for employee salaries and benefits of Rp 194.14 billion and for basic office operational service needs of Rp 86.52 billion.
