Cengkareng – GrabWheels services in the form of electric scooters presented by Grab are now available at Terminal 3 (domestic arrivals) of Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soetta) precisely from the gate door to baggage conveyor belt . This automatic electric scooter loan service is free during the soft launch period for passengers over the age of 18 and does not have a large carry-on bag.
“As one of the busiest airports in the world, Terminal 3 is the largest passenger terminal in Indonesia with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year and an area of around 430,000 square meters with a length of 2.4 kilometers. So GrabWheels is the right solution for Soekarno-Hatta Airport , “said the Managing Director of PT. Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin in an official statement received by Beritasatu.com on Monday (03/06/2019).
President Grab Indonesia, Ridzki Kramadibrata, said he was pleased to be working with PT Angkasa Pura II to present GrabWheels, the first eco-friendly electric scooter service in Indonesia and provide new experiences for tourists and visitors in Jakarta. “As everyday super app, we continue to look for technological solutions that can help help improve our partner industry such as tourism. This will help provide global scale services for Jakarta visitors,” said Ridzki Kramadibrata.
Grab users can easily access this service by downloading the GrabWheels beta application through iOS and Android devices during the trial period. Then, they can visit the GrabWheels parking area that has been available at selected locations at Soekarno Hatta Airport Terminal 3 at the domestic arrival terminal.
After that, users can unlock the electric scooter by scanning the available barcodes using the GrabWheels application to immediately start the journey. After the user reaches the destination, the GrabWheels application will direct the user to return the electric scooter to the nearest parking lot.
As an initial offer in the trial period, Grab users can use the GrabWheels service for free. In addition to safeguarding the safety of users, Grab will provide education on safe driving behavior through messages directly in the GrabWheels application and users will be required to use helmets as a complete vehicle.
