London : A tire manufacturer based in Auvergne, France, Michelin is developing new technology car tires without wind or air, so it is leak-proof. The name of the tire is Unique Puncture-proof Tire System (Uptis). The tire development was carried out by Michelin by cooperating with General Motors (GM). As reported by Autoexpress , the latest tire technology will be launched in 2024. The Michelin party provides Uptis tires, while General Motors (GM) provides a car, the Chevrolet Bolt.
Michelin engineers claim Uptis is a product of future technology and more advantages than ordinary tubeless radial tires. Little information, Uptis was introduced at the Movin’On Summit 2017 event. Michelin aspires that all passenger vehicles will no longer use conventional tires and replace them with Uptis.
In addition to claiming Uptis many advantages, Michelin also explained that Uptis production uses less material and energy, so it is believed to be more environmentally friendly. The possibility of a tire bursting or breaking when the car is speeding can also be avoided because there is no air expanding inside the tire due to the increase in temperature when driving at high speed. In addition, the control of Uptis tires is not much different from other conventional tires. So, the riders don’t need to worry when using a tire weighing around 22.5 kilograms.
A number of advantages and time of release have been announced, but unfortunately Michelin still has not provided further information regarding the price of Uptis. According to predictions, this cool-looking tire will be more expensive than general tubeless radial tires .
